Life In The Fast Lane
Kiss Ever PRO Lash Starter Kit

I’ve never tried false eyelashes before.  I don’t know why, considering I love the pinup girl look and they really go with it.  I guess it’s because I always assumed they would be time-consuming and hard to apply.  The Kiss Ever PRO Lash Starter Kit came in my Beauty Blogger Vox Box that I received from Influenster.  Influenster sends out free products, in order to gain social media presence and feedback for the product.  In other words, I received my Kiss Ever PRO Lash Starter Kit free of charge.

I recently hosted a party and decided that it was the perfect opportunity to try my Kiss Ever PRO Lash Starter Kit.  I followed the instructions carefully and I got the lashes to work with only a few tries.  Like I said, it was my first time trying them and I needed practice.  They are really dramatic and I loved the way they look!

I could use a little more practice applying them next time but now I know what to expect!  I like that they are made with human hair. It makes them look more natural.  They are also latex-free, odor-free and they hold for 24 hours.  They are very flexible and they include an applicator tool that helps beginners!

I think they are great for a night out, going to a party or any other occasion you deem worthy.  Again, if you are a beginner, give yourself some time.  Don’t expect to apply them perfectly the first time.  Another great thing about the Kiss Ever PRO Lash Starter Kit is that it will only cost you around $4.99.  You can find them at your area drugstore.  Check out their website for even more information: http://www.everezlashes.com/home.

Give false eyelashes a shot.  Don’t wait as long as I did!

Bath & Body Works Fall Mini Candle

If you’ve been keeping up with this blog, you’ll know that smells are very important to me.  I like my house to smell nice, among other things.  In order to achieve that effect, I burn a lot of candles.  I was fortunate to receive the Beauty Blogger Vox Box from Influenster recently.  Influenster is a website that sends out boxes of complimentary products in exchange for feedback.  In other words, I got the vox box for free.  It’s a great program and you can request an invitation here:  www.influenster.com.  Anyhoo, you can imagine my delight when I saw that there was a Bath & Body Works Fall Mini Candle included in the box!

I got Pumpkin Candle and it smells as good as it sounds.  It made the box smell great so I couldn’t wait to light it!  This is a scent that I would have picked out for myself anyway.  It burns clean (by that, I mean, it burns all the way down the jar & doesn’t leave a well in the middle) and the scent lights up your household.  I liked it so much that I bought another one online!  I got a different scent that time and that one smells great too.

Candles make a great gift since most people enjoy them.  The holiday season is coming up and Bath & Body Works already has their winter candles out.  They have four sizes: a Mini Candle for $3.50; a Small Candle for $9.50; a Medium Candle for  $12.50; and a 3-Wick Candle for $19.50.  So, you can be sure to find a candle that fits your budget.  Plus, you get to choose the scent so it’s a personal gift as well.  They are highly fragranced for maximum scent and they are made of vegetable wax (vegetarian friendly).  You can check out their website here: http://www.bathandbodyworks.com.

Add Bath & Body Works Candles to your list to give and receive this year and you won’t be disappointed.  They add a beautiful scent and nice ambiance to anyone’s home.  Enjoy!

Not Your Mother’s Smooth Moves Frizz Control Hair Cream

One thing that bugs me about the weather turning colder is static electricity.  It seems like every time I go to turn a light on, I get shocked.  Plus, my hair seems to frizz A LOT.  It’s naturally wavy so I can’t use products made for straight hair or products made for curly hair.  I seem to be in a category all my own.  Imagine my delight when I opened my Beauty Blogger Vox Box and found a product that works to keep your hair smooth while eliminating frizz!

For those of you who don’t know, Influenster sends out boxes of complimentary products to certain target markets in exchange for feedback.  In other words, I received Not Your Mother’s Smooth Moves Frizz Control Hair Cream for free from Influenster.  The more active you are in social media, the more boxes you can qualify for!  Check it out here:  www.influenster.com  to request an invitation.

Not Your Mother’s Smooth Moves Frizz Control Hair Cream is similar to a leave-in conditioner.  You wash and towel dry your hair and then you apply the hair cream while your hair is still damp.  You can then let your hair air dry or you can blow dry and style as usual.  The first thing I noticed was the great smell.  If you know me at all, you’ll know that smells are very important to me.  This smells like coconut and reminds me of a product that they use at a fancy salon/spa!

I have been using it all week and I have been pleased with the results.  You only need a small amount, it’s easy to apply and I like how it has cut down on the frizz!

As I mentioned in an earlier post, it’s been particularly windy here lately but I haven’t had a huge problem making my hair look better after a big gust passes by.

Not Your Mother’s Smooth Moves Frizz Control Hair Cream is now part of my daily hair routine and with it only costing $6, it doesn’t break the bank.  It’s available at places like Walgreens, CVS, Walmart and ULTA.  They even have a version for curly hair called Not Your Mother’s Kinky Moves Curl Defining Hair Cream.  You can find out more on their website:  http://www.nymbrands.com/.   Needless to say, this winter will be no match for my hair when Not Your Mother’s Smooth Moves Frizz Control Hair Cream is involved!

Goody Simple Styles Spin Pin

I love wearing my hair in different styles, but I especially like to wear it up.  I have a 10 month old baby that loves to pull hair so you can imagine why!  I usually wear my hair short but I have decided to keep it a little long lately.  It’s down to my shoulders, which opens up many more possibilities in the styling area.

I recently received Goody Simple Styles Spin Pin in my Beauty Blogger Vox Box from Influenster.  Influenster sends out boxes of complimentary products with the hopes of you testing them out and giving them your feedback.  The more active you are on social media, the more chances you get to receive free stuff!  You can request an invitation here:  www.influenster.com.

The Goody Simple Styles Spin Pin’s package includes a styling manual that shows you how to create three updo hairstyles.  I also went on Youtube and watched a few styling videos involving the spin pin for some added confidence.  My hair was too short to use the Goody Simple Styles Spin Pin without any ponytail holder.  But fear not, I made some minor adjustments and was able to use the spin pin like a pro!  I just used a ponytail holder with the spin pin (& hairspray) and it worked great!

I like the messy bun it created and it stayed in all day!  It’s been pretty windy around here lately so I was impressed.  You just have to twist each pin into your hair after you spin your hair into a bun.  See?  Not much effort with a cute result!

I love wearing my hair in pigtails and I thought this was a cute variation.  Again, it stayed in all day and was an easy style to achieve.  I wore it to swim class with my daughter and it worked well!

The Goody Simple Styles Spin Pin runs about $7.29 and it available at Walmart, Target, CVS, Walgreen’s, and other similar stores.  It comes in different colors for different hair colors too.  You can check out Goody’s website here:  http://www.goody.com/.

So, if you are looking to try something new that does the work of 20 bobbi pins, give the Goody Simple Styles Spin Pin a shot!

Beauty Blogger Vox Box!

A few days ago, I posted a photo of the Beauty Blogger Vox Box that I received from Influenster!  Influenster is a website that sends out boxes of products that you review in exchange for feedback. I’ve been a member for over a year and I really enjoy it!  Check it out here:  www.influenster.com

Inside my Beauty Blogger Vox Box, I received:

A Pumpkin Cupcake Mini-Candle from Slatkin & Co.  (Bath & Body Works).  It smells amazing and as soon as I opened the box, I was excited about it.

Ever Pro Lashes from Kiss.  I’ve never used false eyelashes so I can’t wait to try these on!

IndividualEyes Compact from NYC New York Color.  The shades are exactly like what I use.  I am happy and excited to try these as well!

Smooth Moves Frizz Control Hair Cream from Not Your Mother’s.  My hair frizzes a lot in winter so I am intrigued by this product.

Spin Pin from Goody Simple Styles.  It’s a hair pin that allows you to try three simple styles with it!  I’ve seen this in stores and I want to try it.

That was the breakdown from my Beauty Blogger Vox Box.  I hope you’re excited to hear the reviews because I’m excited to test everything out!  If you have any questions in the meantime, just ask!  There is a box on the right side of the web page that you can use to ask me questions.  Have a great weekend!

Influenster Site Relaunch!

Now if you read my blog on a semi-regular basis, then you’ve noticed that I’ve had a chance to try a lot of awesome products due to Influenster.  Influenster is a site that sends out boxes of products, based on demographics, interests and various other things, for you to try FREE  in exchange for your opinions and feedback.  They call them ‘vox boxes.’ I’ve gotten a lot of great vox boxes full of free stuff that I’ve loved.  I’ve also won challenges that give you even more free stuff!

Influenster just launched a brand new site and overhauled the way that they do things. They now have an awesome points system that determines how active you are on social media.  The higher your score, the better your chance to receive certain vox boxes and special programs.  You can qualify for certain badges according to your lifestyle and get scored in those areas too.

I think this is a great idea.  I like the concept ‘the harder you work online, the more benefits you get.’  It makes sense to give vox boxes to people who are influential on social media.  They will get the products’ name out and make people think about that brand.  I do wish that they didn’t put a limit on the amount of Expert Badges that a person can get, but there isn’t a limit placed on Lifestyle Badges so I guess it evens out.

I really like the new way that the product reviews are done too. The user gives the product a grade and then fills out a review telling everyone what they thought.  You are also free to add pictures or videos too.  The profiles are more interactive and the site is now invitation-only.  It’s easy to navigate and fun to spend time there.  Everything has an easy layout and the vibe on the site is fun.  I just wish that there was a way to find your friends’ profiles and link to them in order to build your network.  That way, your friends could see which badges you have, which boxes you’ve received and so forth.

It’s a great site, program and relaunch!  I’m happy to be a part of it!  So I hope you check out the relaunch if you haven’t already.  If you’d like to sign up, here’s the link to the site again. www.influenster.com.  Also, if you have any questions, feel free to ask me!

EBOOST Natural Energy Booster

I had the chance to try EBOOST from a Klout perk awhile ago so when I received it in the Naturals Vox Box from Influenster, I knew I liked it.  Influenster is an invitation-only website that sends out boxes of products to review.  All of the boxes are themed and you receive them complimentary, in exchange for only your feedback.

This morning was rough getting up when the alarm went off.  As most of you know, I am a stay-at-home mom so when I want to go to the gym, I go in the morning at 5:45am.  Last week, it worked in my favor, as I won a box of salt water taffy from a radio station!  Today, it wasn’t that exciting.  After my workout, I was energized but I knew it wouldn’t last long.  So, it was the perfect time to try out my EBOOST!  I mixed it into 8 ounces of water and down the hatch it went.

Did it give me energy?  I can tell you that it’s only 11:45am and I’ve already:

went the gym,

took a shower,

fed the dog and baby,

did laundry,

folded laundry,

planned dinner for tonight,

cleaned out the baby’s closet,

did the dishes,

took the baby and dog for a 30 minute walk,

played with the baby

and wrote this blog post.

I still have energy to spare too.  I am going to clean the house next.  I wore the baby out.  She’s already taking a nap!  So tell me, do YOU think it works?!?

I like that it has natural ingredients like green tea leaf extract and grape seed extract and it even uses natural sources like beta-carotene for it’s color.  I must warn you though, it has a bit of an after-taste but nothing gross.  I like the flavor and I’d like to try the pink lemonade kind.  It’s low in calories and contains no artificial sweeteners.  It gives you energy and immunity in one 8 ounce glass!  It’s great for moms on the go since it comes in packets that fit conveniently in your purse or gym bag.  You can check out their website here:  http://www.eboost.com/.  Give your day a natural boost, without crashing later!  I’m still going strong!

CleanWell Natural Hand Sanitizer Wipes

Have you heard of the CleanWell brand?  If not, you’ve been missing out!  CleanWell is a green company that makes a plethora of different products all designed with one thing in mind:  a natural way to kill germs.  If you have children, you will agree that you don’t want any weird chemicals to come in contact with their skin or their mouths.  Their hands are always in their mouths, eyes or anywhere else you can think of.  That’s where CleanWell products come in handy.

I received a sample of their All-Natural Hand Sanitizing Wipes in my Naturals Vox Box from Influenster.  Influenster sends out boxes of complimentary products for people to try out in exchange for their feedback. I received this vox box for free, with only my opinions given in return.

I’ve tried CleanWell’s disinfectant spray before and I love it.  It smells great and works as well as other harmful disinfectant sprays.  Needless to say, when I received the Hand Sanitizing Wipe, I had high hopes.

I love the fact that this company has a large, alcohol free wipe, which means it doesn’t dry your skin out and it won’t burn on scrapes or cuts.  It kills germs naturally and it smells wonderfully of citrus herb. As I mentioned before, it’s safe for kids and the formula moisturizes your skin.  By the way, CleanWell never tests on animals either!

CleanWell Natural Hand Sanitizer Wipes are great to throw in a diaper bag or purse for on-the-go cleaning.  I use the disinfectant spray to clean my daughter’s changing pad.  The wipes would also do well in this situation.  Check out this and their other fine products on their website:  http://www.cleanwelltoday.com/.

Add these Natural Hand Sanitizer Wipes to your daily routine and you’ll find that they are a ‘natural’ fit!  ;)

SheaMoisture Baby Bar Soap

Another great product that I want to share with you also came from the Naturals Vox Box from Influenster.  Influenster sends out free products in exchange for feedback.  My soap was complimentary, in other words.  SheaMoisture Baby Bar Soap was a nice surprise included in the box. Only certain demographics received this soap and I was glad to be one of them.  Soap really dries my skin out, since it’s so sensitive.   I have a hard time finding soap that smells good and doesn’t leave my skin dry and itchy.

SheaMoisture Baby Bar Soap really fit the bill!  It smells natural and not like a ton of fragrance.  The last thing I want to do is smell like I just took a romp in the fragrance department at Walmart.  It has ingredients like chamomile and frankincense.

It was a large bar too!  I’ve been using it since I received the box and there’s still a lot left.  I call that economical!  Honestly though, it’s a great soap and it doesn’t dry my skin out. It’s so natural that I would even use it on my baby.

You can check them out online, here:  http://www.sheamoisture.com/ and you can find them at select CVS, Target, Christmas Tree Shops and Bed, Bath and Beyond stores, among others.  If you have my same problem (or even if you just want to try a soap that doesn’t have a ton of weird ingredients and/or fragrances) you should give this soap a try.  Your skin will thank you!

The Original™ Dish Drying Mat

Around my house, my husband and I are the dishwashers.  That’s right. We have to wash everything by hand and it’s not that fun.  Needless to say, I’m always on the lookout for new, innovative things to help improve this chore.  With that said, you can imagine my excitement when I opened the Naturals Vox Box from Influenster and found The Original™ Dish Drying Mat!   Influenster sends out complimentary products in order to gain feedback.  I receive the products for free in exchange for my opinons, nothing else.  You can check them out at Influenster.com.  I am always singing their praises. I have been a member for a few years and I love the program!

I already had a dish mat before I received The Original™ Dish Drying Mat.  I bought it at a discount store so that my drying rack wouldn’t leave water all over the counter/me/the floor/insert any place water gets into here.  I can’t express how superior The Original™ Dish Drying Mat is compared to my other one.  I have given the cheap one to my mom (She wanted it.  It’s not like I just pawn everything off on her…Well…that’s another blog).

The Original™ Dish Drying Mat is super absorbant, so no more water sloshing to the floor.  It holds up to 4 times it’s weight in water.  It’s nice, soft and it folds easily to store it. It feels like it has a layer of foam in the middle to protect your dishes! It dries quickly and you can also hang it to let it dry when you store it.  Did I mention that it’s machine washable?!?

I love this mat. I use it everyday.  I even put my baby bottles on it to help them dry.   It’s inexpensive and it even has a guarantee.  What have you got to lose?  Check it out here:  The Original™ Dish Drying Mat!

It doesn’t make washing dishes fun, but then again, what really does?  ;)
