My favorite mug!
Stash Tea (@stashtea) is having a mug contest and it got me thinking. I took a picture of my favorite mug and wanted to blog about the story behind it. The next post will be a photo of my mug :) When my husband and I started dating, we really liked the Simpsons. It was right around the time that the movie came out. I found a website where you could ‘Simpsonize’ yourself and...

Taco-Roni!
A couple weeks ago, Chef Boyardee was on sale at CVS for 88 cents per can.  I decided to stock up on the Beefaroni for this recipe.  We love Chef Boyardee at my house so I thought this recipe might be a natural fit.  I was indeed right.  Not only was this recipe delicious, it was incredibly easy and cheap to make!  I made one substitute for a spice but I think it worked out very well!  Try this...

Palmolive Fresh Sponge!
It’s been almost three weeks now since I received my Palmolive Fresh Sponge Dish Washing Kit.  I got my kit from Influenster, a website that sends products out to people that are active in social media.  We test the products and give feedback.  They send the packages out free and it’s a great program!  Their website is www.influenster.com.  I wash dishes almost everyday and I hate...

Mexican Pork Chops!
The other night, I found a great recipe to try out involving the boneless pork chops we found on sale. They were easy to make and I was impressed at how good my Mexican rice turned out.  Try for yourself and see.  As usual, I jazzed up the recipe but this time I think I made it better!  The original recipe came from Kraft Foods (www.kraftfoods.com).  Mexican Pork Chops and Rice (serves 4) 4...

One of my favorite recipes!
The other night, I made one of my favorite recipes ever!  It’s so easy and quick that you won’t believe it can be that good.  Everyone I’ve served this to has liked it, even my meat-eater father that swears he can ‘always tell the difference!’  Put this into your regular rotation one week and see how it goes over: Quick and Easy Shepard’s Pie 1 bag...

Nostalgia!
I was bored the other night and I decided to log into my old Myspace account.  I don’t even know how I managed to remember the password but I did.  So I noticed that I wrote a blog on there and I started re-reading the entries.  I was quite witty!  Nevertheless, I stumbled upon a blog post that my friend wrote and I added comments.  I had almost forgotten about this night until I read this. ...

How I saved $26.89 at Kmart this week!
I decided to shop at Kmart this week since I needed diapers and paper towels. They were having a really great sale on both and I had coupons to add on top of the sale prices!  They were also running a meal deal special where you bought one item and got the other free.  You have to have their rewards card to get most of their sale prices.  It’s called the Shop Your Way Rewards card. ...

Don't Burn the Sprouts!
I bought this big bag of brussel sprouts the other day from BJ’s.  (Is it ‘brussel’ or brussels?’ I have no idea!)  They were a great price and we haven’t had them in awhile.  I also saw an interesting recipe on www.thefrugalette.com for ‘Robust Roasted Brussels Spouts.’  I was intrigued and hopeful.  Last night was the night to try this.  I walk around...

Try Some Coconut Milk!
It was triple coupons week at Harris Teeter.  I thought I would go wild and take advantage of the coconut milk coupon I’d been saving.  It was 55 cents off for a total of $1.65 off of a carton. I can’t lose! I’d heard all the hype about how it’s supposed to be so much better for you than milk.  Coconut is all the rage right now.  You can’t turn around in a grocery...

Venus & Olay Razor Product Review
Another product that was featured in the Love Vox Box from Influenster was the Venus Olay Razor (www.gillettevenus.com).  This razor has moisturizer attached to it and says that you don’t need soap while shaving your legs.  It gives you ‘goddess skin.’ Just a small disclaimer before we begin:  I received this and all the other products in the Love Vox Box for free from...

Truvía® natural sweetener Product Review
I recently received a Love Vox from Influenster (remember the photo that I posted awhile back?)  and I wanted to write a review on the first product I decided to try.  Now keep in mind that I do not receive any monetary compensation to try these products.  They send me a free product in exchange for my opinions.  I opened the box and saw that a nice sized sample of Truvia was included.  I was...

Walgreens Deals!
This week, I decided to go to Rite Aid and Walgreens but I am going to split them up in two different posts.  Walgreens will be first since I went there first.  I planned my trip in advance and decided that I was going to attempt two bags of diapers, two toothpastes, two body washes and two baby lotions.  Also, there was a saline nose spray for free that I wanted.  I managed to get all of my stuff...

I saved THIS much at Walgreens!
Today, I was testing my couponing abilities at our local Walgreens store.  I got the idea from The Frugalette’s Blog (www.thefrugalette.com).  She went there and got $72 worth of merchandise for $6.  My Walgreens didn’t have all of the items that she purchased, nor did I have all the coupons she possessed.  So, I modified my shopping trip to include all things that I would use.  I had...

Best Served Hot! New Recipes.
This week, I tried recipes from pinterest and my friends that I already had the ingredients on hand.  I only spent $50 for groceries for an entire week this way.  And the recipes turned out to be the best yet!  These recipes can be found on my pinterest board, “Blog Recipes.”  My husband also suggested that I add more pictures of the dishes that I try so I’m doing that this week...

Better late than never!
Last week’s recipes proved to be pretty good.  I tried a different method and chose some from websites and some from my cookbooks.  I tried to remain relatively healthy too.  I created a pin board on my pinterest that has most of my reviewed recipes on it. It’s called ‘Blog Recipes.’  So original, I know.  Day #1 was Fettuccine con Funghi  and it came from the Cook...
